We specialise in flooring and restoration projects in properties across the Cotswolds, Bath. Marlborough, North Wiltshire and West Oxfordshire.

Superior engineered wooden flooring for your home. Engineered wooden flooring adds a luxurious and natural look to any home. We use only quality products, from a trusted, local supplier, which offer a beautiful look and feel and are available in a range of shades and grains.

You can choose for the flooring to be laid in a herringbone, chevron or parallel design, whatever best suits your home.

You can have wooden flooring installed throughout the house or in just one room that you are revamping.

First we'll remove the existing flooring, whether that is carpet or tiles. If necessary we will level the floor off before installing the wooden floor. We’ll remove and refit skirting boards If you would like underfloor heating we can incorporate this into the transformation, so you not only have a gorgeous wooden floor, you also have the comfort of warmth underfoot. Fire, flood and oil spill insurance work

If you have the misfortune of having to make an insurance claim because your property has been damaged by fire, flood or oil spill you’ll want builders you can trust; builders who will make good the damage and make your home habitable again, so you can move back in as quickly as possible.

At JMW Carpentry & Builders, we have worked closely with clients who needed building work after their homes have been affected by fire, flood or oil spill.

  • We came to the rescue when an oil tank was overfilled, causing as spill across a home spa and gym. Once environmental health had removed the oil and odour, we sealed the floor to protect it against any future spills, removed and replaced oak cladding and remade doors, leaving the building looking as good as new.
  • We carried out repairs to a wood burning oven in a pub that had been damaged by fire due to not being installed correctly.

Restoration building projects

As master builders, we are experienced in building restoration work and will sympathetically restore original features, often repurposing them to give them a new lease of life.

We’ve carried out many restoration projects on properties in in the Cotswolds, Bath, Marlborough, North Wiltshire and West Oxfordshire. Including:

  • Restoring a timber-framed clock tower, returning it to its original glory atop a barn conversion and – having fallen silent for many years – enabling it to chime once again.
  • Repairing garden walling, whether in brick or stone, including dry stonewalling.
  • Creating large patios in porcelain or natural stone.
  • Restoring a pair of arched wooden doors – certificated to Queen Victoria’s original ownership – which we adapted to fit the entrance to a wine cellar, while retaining the original integrity of the doors.
