Soon we will be able to have friends and family back in our homes (fingers crossed!) Before Covid according to research from Homebase, 88% people said the role of the kitchen is now for socialising rather than cooking. We can’t wait to get back to this!

Is your kitchen ready for entertaining?

A kitchen island can act as an impromptu dinner table and bar, whilst wine storage is a must!
If your kitchen needs a refresh or you have realised it isn’t working for you & your needs, and you’re considering a complete renovation – investing in any element of your kitchen can prove invaluable, whilst, living in your home but also when it comes to adding value for resale.

Here are a few style trends for this year, according to kitchen manufacturers:

‘Colourful Kitchens are set to be a huge trend for 2021,’ says Hayley Simmons, Head of Merchandising at Magnet. ‘It seems like we’ve been staring at the same four walls for some time now, 2021 is all about taking risks with interiors, creating a new and very different feeling environment. Homeowners will be looking to experiment and introduce new bolder shades that bring their kitchen to life.’

‘The trend for combining two colours throughout kitchen cabinetry is set to soar in 2020/21,’ says Andy Briggs, interior designer for Optiplan Kitchens. ‘It’s a great approach to adding an interesting twist to your aesthetic and it can change the whole feel of the room.

‘Handleless kitchen cabinets are one of the biggest trends for 2021 for more pared-back, streamlined look. It’s all about simplicity and a focus on cabinetry details,’ explains Busola Evans, Kitchen and Bathroom Supplement Editor, Homes and Gardens.

James and his team have recently completed a job at our property. This included the installation of an oak staircase and the complete gutting and replastering of a dormer bedroom that had suffered a serious roof leak.
We cannot praise the standard of workmanship highly enough. James and his team were punctual, hardworking, conscientious and courteous. The whole project was managed well by James who kept us well informed about the works, who would be turning up when etc. He was also anxious to ensure that all work was completed to a very high standard. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company, it is extremely professional.

Great technical knowledge, highly recommended.

James and his guys installed roof trusses on quite a complex roof design for my extension. All work was done with a high degree of competence and I had no qualms about using him for the fascia work too. Good technical knowledge throughout, will be using him again.

From start to finish JMW Carpentry & Joinery were extremely professional from offering advice on our kitchen project right down to the all the finer details, nothing was missed by James. Always kept all areas clean and tidy whilst working and always cleaned up after the job was complete for the day. We love our finished kitchen and would highly recommend James and his team to anyone looking for any type of carpentry and joinery, we've used others in the past but they have always been missing something whereas James and his team go the extra mile to make sure nothing's missed. You won't be disappointed by this craftsmanship.

Looking forward to having James back to shave some doors down in the near future. Thanks!

Mr and Mrs Mitchell

James and his assistant Luca fitted oak flooring in my lounge. They arrived and completed the job to agreed time and cost. I am very pleased with the quality of workmanship. Amiable guys who take a pride in their work. I recommend them highly.
