James is our founder and Managing Director who is fantastic at liaising with our clients and also managing our team, so they know where they need to be and when.

He followed his grandfather and father into the building trade and is a level 3 qualified carpenter. He went on to become a qualified site supervisor, working on listed building projects. He set up JMW in 2017. James is most proud of JMW’s apprenticeship scheme, as he loves bringing new talent into our industry. 

James loves spending quality time with his young family and likes to unwind playing football or cycling. Fun fact about James: his second cousins are the actors who played Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter films! 

Hayley is our administrator, whose task is ensuring our office is organised and running smoothly, which she does brilliantly.

Hayley joined our team after having a varied career, which included five years running a business making celebration cakes, during which she created a five-tier wedding cake for her brother and sister-in-law.

Something you didn’t know about Hayley: she once met Darth Vadar actor Dave Prowse in his previous guise as the Green Cross Code man.

Sylvannah is a carpenter who works on first fix and second fix carpentry jobs to an exceptionally high standard.

She has completed the first year of her Level 2 carpentry and joinery qualification and has assisted in several extensions and renovation projects. Sylvannah’s proudest moment at work was building a complicated stud wall.

Something you didn’t know about Sylvannah: her hobbies include football and CrossFit, and she went to university in America on a football scholarship.

Archie is an excellent JMW carpenter who is qualified to Level 3 and who has been with us for five years, since leaving school.

As well as gaining his qualifications with us, he has been promoted to site supervisor and first aid trained, and he is now passing his knowledge on to our apprentices.

His standout moment at work was laying different types of oak flooring at Lakes at Yoo in Lechlade. These are timber frame new builds which overlook lakes on the Cotswold Water Park.

In his spare time, Archie enjoys taking part in motocross – even though he lost a finger in a motocross accident!

Ellis is our fully qualified level 2 carpenter, who is striving to improve his skills in carpentry and he always completes work to a very high standard.

In the two years he has been with us, Ellis has come on in leaps and bounds, from starting as a complete novice to being well on the way to becoming an excellent carpenter. He’s successfully laid wooden floors on his own and recently completed the cladding on an entire extension.

Something you didn’t know about Ellis: he is a DJ in his spare time and he can walk on his hands.

Ben is one of our carpenters who loves working on “cool projects and learning how to produce the best pieces of work”.

Ben went straight into a carpentry apprenticeship after his GCSEs. His proudest moment so far has been restoring old doors that have been certified as originally belonging to Queen Victoria.

Something you didn’t know about Ben: he enjoys rugby, and he loves carpentry so much that he also devotes some of his spare time to woodturning.

Luke is our onsite foreman whose job is to ensure everything runs smoothly. He runs our sites with military precision! Luke has worked with many construction companies across the UK, including shop fitting businesses. He’s exceptionally proud of his work and adopts exacting standards.

Something you didn’t know about Luke: he enjoys cars and motorbikes, and spending time with his partner and dog. He also appeared on the BBC’s DIY SOS!

James is our apprentice bricklayer, joining the JMW team in October 2022. James has come on leaps and bounds since; he’s always keen to learn and to demonstrate our trust in his ability, he’s recently been let loose on his own to build a patio for a client and he’s doing a fantastic job!
