As third generation carpenters and joiners, at JMW we have a wealth of history and experience behind us.
Ours is a family business, run by James Woodhams and his wife Kate. James followed his grandfather and father into carpentry, and learned his craft apprenticed to a building company with its own joinery and workshop , specialising in renovating and extending period properties.
From our base in Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire, we handle projects across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Cirencester and the Cotswolds, and for selected clients in London.
All our work is carried out by a small, core team and we have expert tradespeople we draw in for the different skills needed. James loves to be hands on, working three days a week ‘on the tools’ and personally overseeing all our projects, from the smallest such as hanging doors to complete new builds or barn conversions.
Unlike other builders, we don’t flit from project to project. We’re perfectionists, completing one project before we move on to the next. We are tidy, professional and treasure your home as if it was our own.
With JMW, we always offer an excellent service, remaining in constant contact with our clients and keeping them informed at every stage. For us, every project is unique enabling us to deliver a bespoke service, which we manage from day one to completion.
We also nurture young talent and are proud that our first apprentice became Swindon College’s Apprentice of the Year.
If you would like to talk to us about your carpentry, joinery, or building needs, please contact us and we would be delighted to hear from you.
